Meet The Staff
At Turner Boxing Academy, the safety and well-being of our students are our top priorities. Every member of our coaching staff undergoes a thorough vetting process, including background checks and extensive evaluations of their experience and qualifications. Our trainers are not only skilled in boxing techniques but are also committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and structured training environment. With a focus on mentorship, discipline, and injury prevention, we ensure that every student receives high-quality instruction in a secure setting.
Founder & Director
Coach John Brown

Coach John Brown has been the director and head coach at Turner Boxing Academy since founding it in 2005. With over 60 years of experience in the sport, he has been involved at every level—as an athlete, coach, and trainer.

In addition to his coaching career, John developed and marketed boxing equipment through Ringside, the company he founded in 1977. He has also served as President and Vice President of USA Boxing, held leadership roles in the local LBC, and is the franchise delegate and Vice President of KC Golden Gloves.

A successful entrepreneur and respected leader in the boxing community, John considers his most valuable contribution to be mentoring young athletes and helping them become champions—both in and out of the ring.
